Hey Everyone,
I'm having a weird issue with Jaws in Outlook 2016. When I am in a list of messages and hit shift tab to go to the tree-view of folders, jaws says "current mailbox submenu" and the only way for me to get out of this area is to press f6. The folder pain is set to the normal option in the view menu. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike
I got a weird issue too. tried signing up to my account... and it says internal error. wtf?
The best fixes for problems with Outlook 2016 is to either.
1. Install 2013 if you are a subscriber and have access to it.
That solves the error problem.
It seems that some accounts aren't connecting to Microsoft's servers correctly, and up until now, no fix is available.
I have the same issue.
The next fix is to update Jaws to the latest version.
They have put in some new fixes for it.
I'm on the latest version of jaws (jaws 18). This just started happening yesterday after doing a repair of office to fix another issue I was having.
Well, you could reinstall Jaws, but I'll bet you just installed updates for Office, and that caused your one problem to fix, but gave you another.
Try reinstalling Jaws.
reinstalling means buying it again. woo hoo!
hmm, I could install 2013 but I'm running jaws 17.
No, reinstalling doesn't mean buying it again.
You can remove Jaws just like any program and put it back.
The code stays, or if not FS will give you another install by going to
fsactivate.com
or calling them.
2013 works fine with Jaws 17/18. I use it daily.
In Outlook you used to be able to shift-tab to get to the folder payne. You can still get there if the views are set right by pressing F66 about five or six times.
I've always just shift tab and used my arrow keys like to poster here.
Hi,
This seems to be a lot more efficient for me. Instead of using Shift + Tab or F6, just press Control plus Y to jump to the folders list. HTH.
I emailed FS and they said this changed in an Outlook update. You now need to press control+y to get to your list of folders.
Smart solution.
I am still using 2013 so it works as it should.
I'll be testing 2016 again soon to learn if my email address will now connect to the server.
If that were fixed, I'd move up.
I like the features of Office 2016 on other programs.
Oh, and the control Y does work in 2013 as well.
I just tried it.
I still don't need it yet though.
Okay Microsoft has fixed the issue that was keeping me and others away from 2016.
My emails are exchange and last week they updated things.
Now they will work, but you might need to configure yours manually.
Also, if need, you'll need to run Outlook as administrator if it won't send or receive for you.
I saw a solution, but have not tried that yet.
You'd think Microsoft would have had this happening before release, but guess not.
I've gone months using 2013 and paying for 2016.
Last, you can do an online repair to get things going as well.
Lots of work, but worth it at the end of the task.
Laughing.
